Edible BC’s tours are unique in that every one of them is led by one an experienced culinary professional. This allows our guests the unique opportunity to interact and ask questions and also to experience the city from a chef’s perspective. What better way to get to know the local food culture? Each tour is limited to only 8 guests, affording participants an intimate and personal experience.

Edible BC proudly offers tours of 2 of Vancouver’s distinct culinary areas.

Chinatown

Come and experience Canada’s largest Chinatown, rich with heritage, culture, and food. Local Chinese Canadian chefs will lead you through the storied blocks while you sample tea, BBQ meats, bakery items, and much more! If you have time and want to learn more about Chinese dining, sign up for our optional Dim Sum lunch and experience one of our favorite restaurants for Dim Sum – under the tutelage of an experienced guide.

Tours run Saturday at 12:45pm (with dim sum) and 2pm (without dim sum).  All tours end at 4pm.

Granville Island Public Market

Edible BC’s signature and most popular tour takes you on a tour of BC’s culinary mecca – Granville Island Public Market. Discover isles bursting with fresh produce, meats, cheeses, charcuterie, seafood and much, much more. Local chefs will take you through this Vancouver institution and open your eyes to Vancouver’s food culture.

This is not just a tour for visitors to Vancouver. We often have locals who have shopped the market for years take the tour more than once (3 times in one case) as our insider knowledge and relationships with the vendors open their eyes to many new tastes and experiences. This is the perfect opportunity to refresh your cooking routine!

Tours run daily from 9-11am.

Each tour is limited to only 8 people so that you will be able to have a very personalized and interactive trip. Each tour is tailored to the group, so every tour is different.  *Please note, we require a minimum of 2 people to run each market tour.  If less than 2 people are registered for a tour, you will have the option of moving to another date or having your money refunded.

These tours are also great for groups and conferences coming into Vancouver. For larger groups, we can accommodate up to 64 people at a time for Granville Island Tours, and we can handle up to 16 people at a time for Chinatown Tours.

We also proudly offer Private Family Market Tours. With a minimum of 2 adults at our regular fare, we welcome a maximum of 6 children up to 16 years of age at a rate of 25% off.  Children 5 and under are free of charge.  The tour follows the same basic outline as our public tours, but you have a chef guide all to yourself, and we can incorporate the children’s pace and interests in the tour.
