Granville Island Info

An Urban Oasis

Where else in the world can rusty tin-sided factories boast rebirth as a Public Market, an art school, shops, restaurants, theatres, galleries, a hotel, and a great deal more?

It’s a remarkable thing, this island in the middle of a city of two million. Embracing the surrounding metropolitan bustle, Granville Island’s ambiance is matchless.  Its gritty, industrial past is proudly displayed in today’s people – friendly, artistic, and energetic.

Edible BC chose to base its operations on Granville Island due to the Island’s incredible reputation and the fact that we were shopping here everyday – leading people around the stalls and introducing them to this city’s top food vendors.

With such a bustling scene, the challenge is finding all of the great things on the Island, so join us for one of our Public Market Tours (which are going to be running daily starting in March 2009) or pop by the EBC retails store and we will help you find your way.

The Edible BC Store is located on the east wall of the public market (that’s the right hand side of the market if you are facing the mountains). The easiest way to find us is to go through the door by the JJ Bean Coffee Company and just walk straight down the isle – we are at the end on your right hand side!
