Edible British Columbia, Canada’s largest culinary tourism business, is seeking a part-time Retail Associate at our store in the Granville Island Public Market. We carry the highest quality BC and Canadian artisan food products.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Stocking shelves
-Receiving inventory
-Interacting with customers
-Answering phones
-Relaying product knowledge to clients
-Gift Basket design and assembly
The right candidate is flexible, hard working, reliable, and has great customer service skills, accompanied with a real passion for the local food scene. Must be available to work weekends and afternoon/evening shifts. Previous retail experience is an asset.
The Edible British Columbia Retail Store has been part of the Granville Island Public Market for almost 5 years, providing locals and visitors with a one-stop shop for top quality local artisan food products. We also offer chef guided tours of the Granville Island Market and Chinatown, Gourmet Kayaking Adventures, Market Dinners with local chefs, plus customized tour itineraries for individuals and groups.

Whisky expert Andrew Startitt of Cask Strength partners with EBC president Chef Eric Pateman for a night of sprited culinary magic.
Our demonstration-style Market Dinners take place in Granville Island, after hours, and allow you the unique opportunity to watch the chef prepare five seasonally-inspired courses in our open kitchen, right before your eyes. Every Sunday we share a recipe from EBC president Eric Pateman. This is a perfect – and delicious – last minute dessert to cap off a romantic Valentine’s Dinner. It literally takes just a couple of minutes from start to finish. We’ve even given you the shopping list for Granville Island. If you have a heart shaped cookie cutter at home, you can turn the box into a heart for your sweetie – and of course, you can make a stencil for the cocoa dusting to say any message you like…
Oculus Reduction
Serves 6
Cut crusts off the pound cake and cut into 1” by 2.5” by 1” high rectangles. Hollow out a ¼ “ rectangle of the cake to make a box.
Pour syrup from cherries and reduce by half in a saucepan.
Beat mascarpone cheese with icing sugar until fluffy.
Half cherries to remove pits.
Fill piping bag with mascarpone cheese and fill boxes with cheese. Pipe top of box on an angle. Top with 3 cherry halves and drizzle syrup over cherries and cake. Garnish plate with a dusting of cocoa powder and enjoy!

But you don’t have to be an official part of the Olympics to join in – we also have Public Granville Island Market tours daily, and there are still a number of spaces available. You can taste your way through Granville Island – the culinary heart of our city – with a skilled local chef. Edible BC’s signature tour showcases passionate vendors and aisles bursting with fresh produce, meats, cheeses, charcuterie, seafood and much, much more. Tours are 90 minutes long and $49 per person, plus GST.
