I know we are a little biased when it comes to restaurants owned by Brian Fowke and Tim Keller as Edible BC has been a huge supporter since they opened their first restaurant Rare, where we have hosted a number of events including our infamous Black Box and Opening Soon dinners. And with our ongoing Chef for a Day program, we feel a little guilty writing this for fear of self-promotion. However, yesterday we had the opportunity to preview the their new restaurant called Metro at the foot of Burrard Street right across the street from Canada Place and next to the Waterfront Center Hotel. One word is all that is needed to describe their latest venture…WOW!
With Rare consistently being rated by one of the top 10 rooms in the city by numerous local food writers, we are certain their second venture is sure to crack that coveted list as well. Metro is basically a “grown up” version of Rare, with more than 200 seats, but has a similar concept of promoting the best of what is local and in season in a very fashionable way.

With a wrap around oyster bar; a totally open kitchen with some of the best bar seats in the city; a private dining room for up to 25 guests and a patio that will probably be one of the most coveted in the city (but not open until July), this restaurant will suit almost any occasion.
Tonight is opening night, but they are being smart and limiting the number of diners for the first few nights to ensure that everyone has an exceptional experience and that the kitchen can work its way up to speed.
Be one of the first to check out what will soon be the talk of the town!
There were still seats available at the time of writing for this evening on Open Table…
