This Canada Day long weekend, what better way celebrate our nation’s great culinary heritage than with a First Nations Feast. Knowledgeable BC food personality Bill Jones opens up his kitchen and offers his techniques at his Vancouver Island farm. Deerholme Farm is a culinary destination, nestled amid the rolling vineyards, farms and forests of the Cowichan Valley. His series of innovative Farm Dinners combine the pleasure of a dinner party with an educational program – to create a unique culinary experience. It’s also a great way to meet new friends, entertain your brain or impress your stomach! This month, Bill pays respectful homage to the wonderful and sacred culture of the Cowichan peoples. He’ll be using local and wild products in a modern interpretation of the potlatch feast – the traditional gathering to welcome friends and neighbors to the table. The name Potlatch literally means to throw blessings to the wind to share with everyone around you.
