Born and raised in BC, Kimi has always been allured by the bounty of edible products that this province has to offer. From harvesting fresh oysters off of coastal beaches and searching for chanterelles in local forests, to perusing city restaurants and farmer‘s markets, she is committed to seeking out and supporting the best of BC. Kimi has a degree in Geography from the University of Victoria with a special interest in local food security and sustainability issues. She joined the Edible British Columbia retail store team at the very beginning in 2005, took a hiatus to pursue other interests, and is now excited to be back at the store as the Manager of Retail Services.
When other girls were playing with dolls, Treve was reading cookbooks. That interest, along with growing up amid the bounty of beautiful Vancouver Island, propelled her to a career celebrating foodstuffs. Treve is a certified sommelier, wine consultant, writer and editor. In addition to her regular columns for Eat Magazine, she has contributed to other publications throughout the Pacific Northwest including Metro Vancouver, Cityfood, BC Wine Trails, Wine Islands, Focus and Visitor’s Choice. She has worked for the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association, as Catering Manager at Swans Suite Hotel, and has managed a season at Marley Farm Winery. In 2007 Treve was invited to be a judge at Oregon’s Northwest Wine Summit, and was also awarded a Les Dames d’Escoffier scholarship for her wine writing and studies.
She has known Eric since 2005, watched Edible British Columbia grow and flourish, and is thrilled to be part of the team pushing BC food and wine onto the world stage. In addition to handling all the communications needs of EBC, Treve writes the daily Amuse Bouche blog, coordinates all of the tour & event bookings and pairs wine, beer and spirits for all of EBC’s functions.
A global wanderer with a community spirit, Kath lives and loves to eat. Raised in the ‘burbs of Australia, Kath currently calls downtown Vancouver home. She has spent the better part of the last decade traipsing through Europe, Asia and the United States, viewing the world from behind a bar or restaurant floor, all the while devouring the local cuisine and garnering an appreciation for all sorts of culinary delights. And although she’s tried to work outside the hospitality industry (in Finance and Mediation), Kath’s love for food and the business have prevailed. She lives and believes in: Shop Local, Buy Local, Eat Local, which is why working in Sales, Marketing and Events for Edible BC is pretty much her dream job.
Combining her love for food and the hospitality industry, and with her belief in community first, Kath is excited to be working with the many fine artisans and Chefs in the Province as well as meeting other like-minded foodies.
A native Vancouverite, Tracy has been shopping at Granville Island since it opened 30 years ago. Tracy brings a love of food and cooking to work with her every day. Tracy loves to cook for family and friends, and to explore Farmers’ Markets and neighbourhood restaurants. Vancouver is a wonderful place for food, and Tracy is eager to share her enthusiasms for it with everyone coming to EBC
Rossana’s passion for Mexico’s rich cultural and gastronomic heritage began at a young age, and it was after her family moved to Vancouver in the early 90′s that she soon realized what her mission in life is: to share with the world what authentic Mexican food is truly all about.
For nearly six years she was at the helm of her family’s award winning restaurant “The Mouse and The Bean”, the first true “Antojeria” in Vancouver. Since then, she founded her catering and events company “Encanto”, bringing the wide diversity of flavours from Mexico to her clients’ tables. Rossana received the title of “Cultural Promoter” from Mexico’s National Council of Arts and Culture, she has been invited to judge traditional culinary competitions in the state of Michoacán, and has participated in numerous occasions in important culinary events in her city, such as EAT! Vancouver and Taste of the City. She is a regular guest on television shows and has been interviewed on CBC radio, the Vancouver Sun, the Georgia Straight and the Mexican newspaper La Jornada. She continues offering cooking classes, and every semester goes back to teach at North West Culinary Academy, the only school in the city with an “Introduction to Mexican Gastronomy” class for professional culinary students.
Dora is an Ontario native, but moved to BC early on. She has had a lifelong passion for food and fondly recalls standing on a chair as a girl, learning from her mother how to fold stiffly beaten egg whites into lemon-yellow yolks to make sponge cake. With over sixteen years of experience in the food industry, her professional profile includes receiving a grant to participate in the first Youth International Self-Employment Program in BC, in which she learned about business planning and traveled to Singapore and Malaysia to job shadow women entrepreneurs in the food and beverage industry; founding Tamarind Tree Catering, which specializes in “bringing the feasts of the far east” to her clients; receiving a short-term scholarship from Les Dames d’Escoffier International; completing an Asian Cooking Intensive at The Institute of Culinary Education in New York; and supervising the Culinary Arts Program at Matthew McNair Secondary in Richmond. As a resident of “The Drive”, Dora is delighted to be a part of the Edible British Columbia team, allowing her the opportunity to share her love of food, her neighbourhood, and local food treasures in this diverse and vibrant province she calls home.

Creating havoc in the kitchen has been one of Gurj’s favorite activities from a very young age, be it underfoot at his mom’s or grandma’s, he always knew a career in the Culinary Arts was his true calling.
After graduating at the top of his class in 1998 from Vancouver Community College, Gurj landed his first job at CinCin Ristorante, one of downtown Vancouver’s preeminent establishments. With his strong drive to progress in the industry, Gurj completed his Red Seal Chefs’ Certificate at the The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel.
To broaden his horizons, Gurj decided to take a year long gastronomic journey to Sydney, Australia. The Aussies’ love for their land was an eye-opening experience for Gurj, who worked and traveled around the country. From local ingredients such as produce, game meats, and wines, he absorbed the fun-loving and strong personality of the country. Upon moving back home to Vancouver, Gurj joined the trendy and very talented team at The Metropolitan Hotel.
In the summer of 2007 as a competitor on the Food Networks Superstar Chef Challenge, Gurj impressed an esteemed panel of international judges through a series of culinary challenges to reign supreme as the national winner.
Dana began her career in the hospitality industry at the age of 11, spinning cotton candy and selling corn dogs at the PNE. Her father was in the wine importing business for many years and instilled a love of wine, food and travel. Dana started managing restaurants in Vancouver in her early twenties before moving into the kitchen and culinary side with her Cellar Door Restaurant at Sumac Ridge Winery. Leaving the Okanagan, Dana headed to London, England to do a stint at the River Café. She moved back to Vancouver and worked at Raincity Grill and Lumiere before opening CRU in 2004. CRU went on to win accolades and was one of the Best New Restaurants in Canada, as awarded by Enroute Magazine. CRU offered a unique wine and food pairing menu that has since been widely adopted. Dana now owns SOL Kitchen, a food and hospitality consulting company. She now works with restaurants and food related companies across Canada. Dana is committed to producing fresh, regional and responsible cuisine and we’re fortunate to have her lead our Cowichan Valley tours.
